Flowerbed Installation and Maintenance
in Bryan and College Station

Gamez Lawn and Landscaping Service can install flowerbeds, weed them, add mulch, and many other tasks to keep flowers blooming around your home or in the landscape. With proper upkeep, the beds will remain weed-free and give the flowers and plants plenty of room to grow and establish a healthy root system.

We offer a variety of flowerbed services to fit every budget. Many of our clients ask us to weed their flowerbeds each week when we mow their lawn. Pick and choose what suits you best and then sit back and enjoy the butterflies and hummingbirds that are attracted to blooming flowers, or watch birds take shelter in shrubs and trees.

Leave the Weeding to Us

One of our most popular services is flowerbed weeding. Weeds can quickly take over a flowerbed once the roots spread or the seed heads germinate and spread throughout the flowerbeds. The quickest way to keep weeds in check is to schedule weekly weeding services at the same time the lawn is mowed. By keeping weeds out of the flowerbeds, the beds will have room for the roots of flowers, shrubs, and other plants to establish a healthy root system and get the nutrients and water from the soil, instead of sharing these vital elements with the root system of prolific weed growth.

Gamez Lawn and Landscaping Service also offers weeding services on an "as needed" basis. A healthy weed system may have overtaken your flowerbeds and you just need help getting them back in shape. We can do that for you.

Installation of New Flowerbeds

There is nothing more satisfying than seeing a bare patch of lawn turn into a beautiful area where plants and flowers thrive. Gamez Lawn and Landscaping Service can prepare the soil, add compost or other nutrients to the soil, lay in the plants, and add mulch to finish off the newly established beds.

We can also make suggestions about flower and plant selection, spacing the plants, because, at maturity, some plants can require a large section of a flowerbed to grow into a healthy plant. We can help you plan ahead to avoid having to remove plants as they start to grow larger during each growing season.

Mulching the Flowerbeds

We highly suggest that flowerbeds are covered with a healthy layer of mulch to help with weed control and keep the beds from drying out so quickly in the Texas heat. We can pick up the mulch for you or lay mulch that you have already purchased, whichever is best for you.

Flowerbed Maintenance

Once your flowerbeds are established, Gamez Lawn and Landscaping Service can maintain the beds to keep your landscape looking beautifully groomed. We can prune plants and shrubs as needed, replace dead plants, and haul away the debris.

The image below: The selection of flowers for the new flowerbed we installed at this home survived the dry summer scorcher of 2023 and attracted various birds (including hummingbirds) and butterflies throughout the months . . . just what the homeowner requested.

For the backyard beds, we selected tropical milkweed, mealy cup sage, English lavender, moss rose, Mexican bush sage, Mexican heather, crucita, porter weed, and lily of the Nile. An American beautyberry bush, which produces small berries, was planted in a corner of the yard for the birds. Little volcano bushes, which produce purple flowers in the fall along the stems of the entire plant, were planted in a center bed and wax myrtles were planted at the back of the yard. The flowers were selected because many of them bloom at different times of the year. The larger bushes were selected not only for the privacy they provide, but for the beautiful flowers they produce in the fall.

What our clients are saying . . .

“The fall and winter wrecked havock on my butterfly garden. The thought of pulling two seasons of weeds overwhelmed me. I heard about Jose, and what a conscientious, hard working man he was, and gave him a call. He put me on his schedule, and cleaned my huge garden in one day. I could not be happier with the results. I highly recommend this wonderful landscaper.” ~ Kurten, TX, Resident
